**Stanza 38:** A list of the maidens that attend the lady of the keep, Eir is included.
‘One is called Hlíf, the second Hlífþursa,
the third Þjóðvarta,
Bjǫrt and Blíð, Blíðr, Fríð,
Eir and Aurboða.
**Stanza 40:** States that the maidens listed guard from ill.
‘The wise ones offer protection wherever people sacrifice to them
at an altar-holy place;
danger doesn’t come upon the sons of men so severely
[that] they [can’t] free each one from constraints.’
Chapter 34-35(p.29): High lists Eir third among the Asyniur, noting that she is an extremely good physician.
High said: ‘The highest is Frigg. She has a dwelling called Fensalir and it is very splendid. Second is Saga. She dwells at Sokkvabekk, and that is a big place. Third is Eir. She is an extremely good physician.
Chapter 75(p.157): Eir is named in a list of Odin's maids, who are also identified as norns.
Then are listed Hrund and Eir, Hrist, Skuld. They are called norns who shape necessity.
