**Stanza 33:** Frigg is describing as weeping for Baldr’s death.
‘He never washed his hands or combed his head,
before he carried Baldr’s opponent to the pyre;
but Frigg wept in Fensalir
for the woe of Valhǫll. Would you know still [more], or what?
**Stanza 52:** Frigg is mentioned in reference to Óðinn death. Hlín is probably an alias for Frigg.
‘Then Hlín’s second sorrow comes to pass,
when Óðinn goes to fight against the wolf,
and the bright slayer of Beli against Surtr;
then Frigg’s Angantýr will fall.
**Prose Indroduction:** Frigg is mentioned in the prose introducion to the poem.
Óðinn and Frigg sat in Hliðskjálf and looked through all worlds…
Frigg says: ‘He’s so stingy with food that he tortures his guests if it seems to him too many come!
Frigg sent her box-maiden, Fulla, to Geirrøðr.
**Stanza 1-2-3-4:** Frigg talks to Óðinn about going to visit the jötunn Vafþrúðnir.
Óðinn said:
1. ‘Advise me now, Frigg, since I want to go
to visit Vafþrúðnir;
I declare my great curiosity to contend in ancient staves
with the all-wise giant!’
Frigg said:
2. ‘I would keep Herjafǫðr at home
in the courts of the gods,
for I have considered no giant to be as strong
as Vafþrúðnir!’
Óðinn said:
3. ‘Much have I travelled, much have I tried,
much have I tested the powers;
I want to know this,
what Vafþrúðnir’s household is like.’
Frigg said:
4. ‘May you travel safe, may you come back safe,
may you be safe in your fellowship!
May your mind be strong, Aldafǫðr,
wherever you have to speak words to a giant!’
**Prose Introduction:** Frigg is mentioned as coming to the feast with Odin.
To that feast came Óðinn and Frigg, his wife.
**Stanza 25-26-27-28:** Frigg intervenes and starts talking to Loki.
Frigg said:
25. ‘You two should never tell people
about your fates,
of what you two Æsir did in ancient days;
let the living always distance themselves from old destinies!’74
Loki said:
26. ‘Silence, Frigg! You’re Fjǫrgynn’s daughter,
and have always been man-eager,
since, Viðrir’s wife, you took both
Véi and Vili77 in your embrace!’
Frigg said:
27. ‘Know [this, that] if I had inside, in Ægir’s halls,
a boy like Baldr,
you wouldn’t escape from the sons of the Æsir,
and you’d then be fought by furious ones!’80
Loki said:
28. ‘Do you still wish, Frigg, that I speak more
of my wicked words?
I brought it about81 that you’ll never again
see Baldr riding to halls!’
**Stanza 9:** Frigg is mentioned in an invocation with Freyja and more gods as a thanks.
“So may kindly female creatures help you,
Frigg and Freyja and more gods,
as you made danger fall from my hands!”
