‘Then Hlín’s second sorrow comes to pass,
when Óðinn goes to fight against the wolf,
and the bright slayer of Beli against Surtr;
then Frigg’s Angantýr will fall.
Chapter 35(p.30): Hlin is listed twelfth among the Asyniur. Her function is to protect those whom Frigg wishes to save from danger.
Twelfth Hlin: she is given the function of protecting people whom Frigg wishes to save from some danger. From this comes the saying that someone who escapes finds refuge (hleinir).
Chapter 51(p.55): In a verse from Völuspá, "Hlin" is used as a kenning for Frigg, describing her sorrow at Odin's death during Ragnarok.
Then Hlin’s second sorrow comes to pass as Odin goes to fight the wolf, and Beli’s bright slayer against Surt. There shall fall Frigg’s delight.
Chapter 75(p.157): Hlin is named in a systematic list of the Asyniur.
