the sun shines from the sword of the gods of the slain;
rocky cliffs collapse and witches wander,
men tread the Hel-way, and the heavens are cloven.
52.‘Then Hlín’s second sorrow comes to pass,
when Óðinn goes to fight against the wolf,
and the bright slayer of Beli against Surtr;
then Frigg’s Angantýr will fall.

your talent on the floor,
what the field is called on which Surtr and the sweet gods
will encounter each other in battle.’
Óðinn said:

will encounter each other in battle;
it’s a hundred leagues in every direction —
that’s the field determined for them.’
Stanza 14: While dying, the dragon Fáfnir answers Sigurðr's question about the name of the island where Surtr and the Æsir will fight.

and know many things:
what the islet is called where Surtr and the Æsir
will blend sword-liquid together.’

on twigs of the tree of Mími;
with one sorrow he oppresses immeasurably
Surtr’s Sinmara.’
